As a strategic partner with the owners and management team of our clients Paradigm Management provides the financial leadership that bridges the gap between the accounting department of the business and the critical financial information that management needs to “manage the business for profit”.
“Managing for profit” is a process of management that is different than just working hard and hoping for the best financial result. “Managing for profit” involves integrated plans and processes that lead to a predetermined result. As a strategic financial leader we see our role as providing the financial piece to this puzzle and working with the management team to develop the best solution for each individual business.
We see our role as much more than financial reporting but rather leaders providing financial information to all departments in the company. Every decision has a financial impact…our job is to make sure that owners and managers understand and accurately assess the impact of their decisions. This is information that is not evident on the face of financial statements: cash flow from operations, breakeven, product profitability, working capital efficiency, employee productivity, just to name a few.
In today's competitive environment Paradigm Management helps owners and managers understand the financial condition of their company and how it impacts the bank's decision regarding the amount of financing it is or is not willing to provide to support the growth of the business and the cost of the financing. With all financing arrangements come conditions, or covenants. Our job is to make sure everyone understands the impact of the covenants and manages the business to meet them.
Our focus is to ensure that the owners and managers have access to the information and tools necessary to “manage their business for profit”: “Predetermined Profit Plan” (budget), key performance flash reports, accurate costing, breakeven analysis, cash flow forecasts, debt management, inventory and accounts receivable management, loan covenants, financial ratios, and appropriate financial processes and procedures.
As a strategic partner we participate in the development of Incentive Compensation Plans, Bonus Plans, Profit Plans, long term business planning, critical operational processes, key performance metrics, loan negotiations as well as interfacing with Bankers, Insurance Agents, outside CPA’s, and Attorneys.
We are not a replacement for internal staff or outside CPA’s and do not attempt to disrupt these relationships. We see ourselves as operational financial leaders in partnership with owners, managers, and the entire financial management team….internal and external.
